Valentina draws inspiration from various artistic expressions, including literature. After reading Arthur Golden's Memoirs of a Geisha, she was transported to a different time and place, sparking her curiosity to imagine what a geisha would be like in the tropics. This inspiration is evident in the Nitta collection, featuring hand-painted sleeves and structured shoulders and waists. The warm color palette evokes the tropics, utilizing color blocking and contrasts. Rather than appropriating Japanese culture, the designer incorporates customary elements, such as elegant silhouettes, bustiers, and dresses, into her clean aesthetic, remaining true to her tropical DNA.
